Jason Mraz sings Up

I had the once in a lifetime opportunity the other night to listen to Jason Mraz play an acoustic set...while sitting in the front row! He played songs that were familiar and unfamiliar, but all sounded great.

I want to share my favorite of the night. Enjoy!

Printing Photos Made Easy (And Less Expensive)

Read on if you:
a] Want to order photographs
b] Create scrapbooks
c] Look for great deals

Personally, I don't order photo prints very often because I don't want to spend the money and I have little need for a bunch of photos laying around. But when I want photographs for frames, a collage, gifts or a photo album, I want to find the best deal possible.

While on my search for the best deal, I made a discovery that changed the way I printed photographs. With each website I visited, I noticed a trend: Many sites give you a bonus for creating an account with them. In many cases, this bonus was in the form of free 4x6 prints. I thought to myself, What a great deal! I didn't even have to pay shipping with most because I could pick it up myself for no extra cost!

Even after a year of my discovery, I still have free prints waiting for me. It's a great way to get 150+ FREE 4x6s. It can save you or your organization dozens of dollars (and who doesn't like to save money?).

Below are the websites and their corresponding "bonuses" for creating online photo accounts:

Snapfish: www.snapfish.com | 50 free prints + shipping
Walgreens: www.photo.walgreens.com | 25 free prints (free if you pick up in-store)
Kodak: www.kodakgallery.com | 50 free prints + shipping
CVS: www.cvsphoto.com | 50 free prints (free if you pick up in-store)
Shutterfly: www.shutterfly.com | 50 free prints + shipping

There may be MORE sites out there, but this is a great start! Shop away!

Melanie

One of my dearest friends, Melanie, recently lost more than 25 pounds by working out and eating right. I'm so proud of her!

And what better way to celebrate her new body than to document it with portraits.

That wasn't enough for her, though; she wanted to include the people who meant the most to her in the photos. I would expect no less from such a caring, selfless person.

I was so happy she asked me to take them.

Night at the Racetrack

As part of our internship finale, Altria let us have a night at the Richmond International Speedway. We rode passenger for some drifting and several laps around the speedway. Although my head was pulled to the side from all of the Gs working against me, it was an exhilarating experience!

Family

This past June I photographed my family at a local waterfall in Joplin, Missouri, for Mother's Day.

I enjoyed creating this collage with the photos from the shoot.

A pose for this many people was difficult at first. I checked it in the camera several times but there is still an opportunity for a better look.

One of the main components of the photograph is lighting. If I could do it over, I would've found a better place to sit so our eyes weren't squinting. It was hard to tell the sun was too harsh when checking the photos through the LCD screen.

Overall, though, I am extremely satisfied with the portraits!
